A porcelain figurine in the style of Scheibe Alsbach, Germany, with an undetermined hallmark. The figurine depicts a male rider with sword and hunting horn or trumpet slung around his shoulders, dressed in a military style. The horse's reins are made of a thin metal chain. Measures 7 5/8" tall by 6 7/8" long including the porcelain plinth. This is an old piece, evidenced by the scattering of black coal dots which adhered to the glaze in the old coal fired kiln, and expected wear to the gold overglaze decoration on the man's horn. The hallmark has a line painted through it, indicating second quality, probably due to the black coal flecks in the glaze. A wonderful period piece to add to your decor.
