Dresden Porcelain Cabinet Plates (5) Gold Border Pastoral And Horse Scenes

  

DRESDEN PORCELAIN CABINET PLATES (FIVE). A total of (5) five Dresden signed porcelain cabinet plates measuring 10 3/4 inches in diameter. These are not hand painted but transfers and without a jewelers loupe you would think they were hand painted. There are 2 scenes with horses and 3 are pastoral with sheep. The borders are heavy gold with a raised design 3 inches and the inner scenes are 4 3/4 inches.

The backs ARE COMPLETELY WHITE and are marked with a gold bell and the word DRESDEN. There are no signatures on the transfers. They are in perfect condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. One plate has two tiny leaves (the one with the white horse about 9 o'clock location) and you can see it if you enlarge the complete plate photo as you can see both leaves where the gold is worn and shows white. It is so small it could be touched up with a gold pen but I do not try to conseal damage.

These are beautiful plates with a 3 inch heavy gold border and each scene is 4 3/4 inches in diameter. Photos show the scenes a bit darker, They are very heavy plates and weigh almost 1.5 pounds each with a ittle over 7 pounds for 5 plates so they are substantial and not delicate. The detail is magnificent on the transfers and every bit as beautiful as if they were hand painted.

You do not see dots in the design unless you use a loupe. Inexpensive enough to use as dinner plates if you serve something that does not require a knife if you dare or display them.
