A fantastic porcelain figurine of a young lady with her arms around the neck of a dappled pony, produced by Rosenthal (Germany), one of the world's finest porcelain companies. Fully hallmarked, with the hallmark indicating that this figurine was produced in 1940. Under the plinth it is impressed with the artist's name, MH Fritz, and also the model number.
The quality of this piece is absolutely outstanding, with lovely, detailed hand painted decoration, and a crisp highly detailed mold. The nude woman smiles as she hugs the horse, who acknowledges her sweetly. Horse collectors and fanciers will appreciate the superb modeling of the horse, as well as all the realistic decoration, from the lush wavy mane and tail to the gorgeous dapple decoration. This large figurine measures 12" tall by 11 1/2" long. I have reexamined it under a black light and lighted magnification. It has a factory kiln pop on the non-viewing side, lady's right hand middle finger (see last photo). No repairs or restorations as determined by black light exam. Please enlarge and examine all photos carefully as they are considered part of the description. Experienced shipper of fragile items.
