Hertwig & Co Germany Figurine Of A Horse And Colt, 1914 To 1945 Hallmark

  

An outstanding vintage figurine of a mare with her cavorting colt, produced by Hertwig & Co. In the area of Katzhutte, Germany. The company was founded in 1864 and closed in 1990. The figurine bears the green cat in house hallmark, dating production of this item to between 1914 and 1945.

This is a stellar piece with fine modeling and decoration. The horses are much more refined, and prettier, than the typical Hertwig horses.

No chips, cracks, repairs or restorations as determined by black light and lighted magnification exams.
