Sugarplum, The Carousel Pony, is the first of the Cybis carousel mounts to be portrayed elevated above the base, simulating the up and down motion of the carousel. Carousel animals depicted in this fashion are known as jumpers in America and gallopers in England.

Lavishly highlighted with 24-karat gold, this cream-white pony is elaborately decorated in the pastel shades which have become a Cybis hallmark. On Sugarplum's head rests a lavender plume touched with gold. This same shade is reflected in the bridle and the saddle onto which, in the fashion of the early Cybis Studio, has been cared a tiny face nestled within pearlescent wings. Individually created "satin" rosettes highlight the sides of the saddle as well as the bridle. The pale blue ribbon which is braided through the pony's white mane and tail is complimented by the chaos of cornflowers looping from the golden harness.

Completing the aura of fantasy, Sugarplum's pink hooves are shod with golden horseshoes - ideal for a mount destined to explore distant realms whose boundaries are marked only to each rider's dreams.
