For sale is a superb figurine of a horse made by Augarten during the original period in the early 20th century. It works as a standing alone piece but is really a chess piece - the knight (Springer in German). A superbly modeled figure with its front legs up in the air while standing on its hind legs supported by an oak tree stump with some leaves. Black round base with a gold and white ring trim around the bottom edge. The horse is hand painted with just enough details to make it really nice. Hard to find the versions from the original period or even any other period! The piece is in perfect condition. It is just over 2.375 inches tall, 1.375 inches wide and 1.125 inches deep.

Marked underneath with the blue shield with the crown on top as well as the word Wien underneath as well as Augarten Austria in a red rectangle mark as shown.
