Produced from the highly regarded manufactury Hutschenreuther (today a part of Rosenthal), Selb, Bavaria, Germany.

First formed in the Victorian / Art Nouveau or Art Deco Period from the famous sculptor Carl Werner. The Riding School in Vienna is the only institution in the world which has practiced for over 430 years and continues to cultivate classical equitation in the Renaissance tradition of the haute école. The figurine was produced about 65 years ago and is in excellent condition, without any chips, cracks or repairs. Only a small unglazed area at the side of the pedestal (it seems that a burning dot was filed away). 6 inches wide, 8 inches tall 15,5 x 20 cm. Carl Werner (1895 1980) was a sculptor and one of the most important German porcelain modellers of the 20th century.

As from 1922 he worked as a sculptor in the art department of the Hutschenreuthr AG, in 1960 he was appointed head of the department.
