Scarce Rosenthal Germany Pastell Collection Porcelain Figurine Of A Horse

  
A scarce and unusual porcelain figurine of a horse by Rosenthal Germany, with a secondary hallmark from the Rosenthal branch factory Bahnhof Selb, Bavaria, for their Pastell China collection. Collectors will recognize the characteristic Pastell decoration seen on this limited line. A third hallmark recognizes the decorator.

This is marked as model 818, the number being impressed under the plinth. On the back edge of the plinth is incised Munch-Khe. Please see photos for all markings.

The horse appears to be a Draft type foal with substantial bone and body type. The modeling and decoration on this piece is really quite appealing.

Overall size is 7 1/4" tall by 6 3/4" long. As examined under black light and lighted magnification, there are n o chips, cracks, repairs or restorations.
